RULES AND REGULATIONS POLICY
By following the Rules and Regulations it will insure a peaceful and harmonious setting for all to visit their loved ones.
Dogs are to be kept on leashes at all times while visiting the cemetery. Dog owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dog. (DO NOT ALLOW YOUR DOG TO URINATE ON GRAVE SITES OR HEAD STONES).
It is the responsibility of plot owners to care for flowers (and/or arrangements). Sunnyside Cemetery reserves the right to remove anything left at a plot site over a reasonable amount of time and will be cleaned up and disposed of by the caretaker.
No planting of trees, sod, grass, plants, or shrubbery on cemetery grounds. They will be removed and disposed of.
No smoking (or vaping), illegal drugs, alcohol, weapons, or fireworks on cemetery grounds.
No picnicking on Cemetery Property.
No private parties, barbecuing, open flames, or leaving food and drinks at grave sites. (Bottles of alcohol are not allowed to be left at grave sites).
All decorations left at grave sites must be in the confines of the foundation, they cannot be left in the grass area.
Artificial arrangements are welcome, they must be removed when they become weathered. If not taken care of by plot owners (relatives, friends, associates) who leave them, the cemetery staff will remove them and dispose of them as per Board instructions.
No loitering, sleeping or sun-bathing permitted on Cemetery grounds.
No leaning, sitting, or climbing on headstones.
No tables, tents, tarps, or pop-ups on Cemetery grounds.
No driving or parking on grass areas or gravesites. Please park on the driveways or outside the fence area.
Visitors to the Cemetery must comply with cemetery staff and local law enforcement.
BOARD POLICIES
Plot costs, endowment and foundation costs may be reserved if paid for within one year of purchase date. Burial costs are due and payable prior to the day of a funeral, however burial costs may be paid in advance.
No plot will be reserved until paid either in part of in full. To place a plot on hold the payment in full must be made within one year. These payments are nonrefundable. The minimum down payment for putting plot(s) on reserved is 1/12th the total purchase price with the remainder due as equal payments for twelve months.
Foundations for plots are 2ft x 5 ft. Double foundations shall not exceed 10 feet wide. Headstones cannot be any longer than the foundation specifications. All headstones cannot be taller than three feet.
Should any plot owner wish to transfer a plot to another person, the Cemetery Board will need the original plot deed, sales receipt and a signed letter requesting the transfer to approve the transfer. If there are existing family member a written letter from each of the family members is required giving their consent of transfer.
Board members may hold one annual meeting at the Cemetery at which time the shop, house and restrooms may be inspected. Any board member may inspect the restroom and shop at any time.
A Board member may be expelled if absent from regular monthly Board meetings four consecutive times with a majority vote of the Board.
The possession or use of illegal drugs or restrictive substances on any of the Cemeteries owned properties, rented properties or at Cemetery events will result in the immediate dismissal of any employee or board member.
Any Dog or Dogs on Cemetery property must be kept on a leash at all times. Dog owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dog or dogs.
Plot owners are responsible for their plot maintenance. If the plot is unmaintained the caretaker will care for as seen fit.
It is the responsibility of the plot owners to care for flowers and or (arrangements). The cemetery reserves the right to remove anything left at a plot over a reasonable amount of time and will be cleaned up and disposed of by the caretaker.
